The UMD vocal jazz ensembles Lake Effect and Chill Factor are the only collegiate ensembles specializing in vocal jazz in the state of Minnesota. They travel often, regionally, nationally, and internationally (Ireland and China), and have received many Outstanding Performance Awards.
